Default buildings and contents insurance

Have been advised by our lender that we need buildings/contents insurance prior to completion. As we are still in the UK this will have to be done from this end. Can anyone recommend who we can go to in the UK for insurance in Spain?

Why not approach a Spanish insurer .... its likely to cost you less
I use Mapfre, about €320 buildings and contents, which was less than I used to pay in the UK for about the similar scenario

Hi Linda, I'm looking at quotes for my second year. 1st was with Mafre, but their renewal quote is much more expensive. Just got a quote from Intasure and it's about 50E cheaper, so just checking they offer the same.

Do NOT use SantaLucia, a Spanish company.

We were broken into on January 8th this year while we were in London visiting my 94 year old mother.

We had friends coming to the house every day & night, there were 2 cars parked in the drive. The lights came on & off as they are on timers, so the house looked lived in. Also we have solar bulbs on all the outside lights

We are still battling with SantaLucia over work that has not been done. Also we had new for old, that didn't mean a thing.

So forget them.
