Brits investing in CDS restaurant
Brit footballers that is.

A good move? Or vanity dining? I'm not sure I would want to dine at an establishment where footballers and wags went, but I accept I may be in a minority on this one.

“Players are no longer looking at property to invest in, they are seeking out successful businesses,” Radford told the Olive Press.

Not me either, but there are many who like to rub shoulders with celebrities.

They have tried it on a few times in Marbella, claiming to have the celebs in, works for a while and thats it. Seems to need a lot of investors Best way to do it though, open a business and let the investors lose the money
Are they celebs anyway? B

I wonder if the chap wants to buy some insurance, I don't sell it but I'm pretty sure I could to him, or maybe the Eiffel Tower?
Eateries tend to be an easy avenue to throw your money down. Longer term you'll perhaps make more money from a good chip shop than a M* restaurant.

You have a point, we were in Banus in Dec. All the expensive places were empty but there was a queue to get in the pizza place.

Bars are the way to go for anyone with a famous name in sport.
Crowds of youngsters have been queuing up big time to unload their cash in Linekers Tenerife for longer than I can remember and that's built on his brother Gary's reputation.
Now there's a huge string of World famous successful Lineker bars and club right around the Med.
Money for old rope.
I wonder how a Gascoines or a Bests would have gone down,....... if they hadn't drunk all the profits that is.

In any event I imagine they'd only pay an occasional visit to their restaurantes, c/w media, strictly for P.R. purposes, then p!ss off and eat somewhere else themselves.
Probably charge ridiculous prices as well,to those who are mug enough to turn up in order to brag about it to their neighbours for the Lord only knows how long.
Boring farts the lot of them, celebs and punters.

Didnt the guy who infamously had an affair with Princess Di open a restaurant in Marbella or Puerto Banus, James Hewitt I think he is called. Is the restaurant still in operation?

AFAIK it is still open, called the Polo Lounge. We went a couple of times when it first opened and we thought the food was very good. Don't know the set-up now but he was only the front man when it opened, I knew the backer from playing golf. Hewitt was well known as a sponger on the coast!
