Seen some shots in the paper today of Beckham having a kick about with his sons. All the kids were wearing gear from his sponsors. The toddler was there who was seen with his wife at NY fashion week. (that toddler must have some of the best designer gear ever but boy is she ugly). They appear to be a together family but have 3 nannies on 8 hour shifts....and is it doing a toddler a favour taking her on a 9 hour flight to fashion shows for a week!

Totally false the lot of them and people fall for the hype:thumbdown:

Re: A Briton to be proud of?

Was there any need for Beckham to publicise this? No. He will "Earn" his cash in other areas, for example he will get a cut from every "Beckham 23" shirt that is sold and, as others have alluded to, his image rights. So the actual salary is dwarfed by the other deals he has.

There are many footballers who have foundations and give to charity. For example every England player donates his England match fees to charity.

The Craig Bellamy foundation is another example whereby he goes out to Africa on a regular basis and has a hands on approach to the work his foundation does.

So yes, Beckham is giving his "Salary" to charity, but he's certainly not playing for nothing, assuming he actually gets a game.

Why on earth is he the richest footballer in the world? It's not just because of his football earnings. It's his publicity machine.

Hell, must be desperate times in the Beckham household, the lad giving up his wage and all.

Maybe we should all have a whip round and buy the lass a new coat.
She must be freezin when she's in the UK.

I saw a nice one at the Rastro, could have been about her size, but just left it thinking she might turn her nose in the air. ;)

I see the French tax authorities have launched a probe into Dave's cosy arrangement.

PSG, and not Beckham, will eventually pay the £700,000 estimated 'wages' direct to a selected charity.

Another one with a nice little earner.
Quarter of a million quid for running half a race ?
Getting on to 4 million by next year as a result of his Olympic success.
Nice work if you can get it and who can blame him, apart from the Mail maybe ?

.....but I can't help thinking the Worlds gone mad with all these crazy sponsorship deals.
Personally I couldn't care a toss who, if anybody, sticks there monika on my gear, but obviously it means a hell of a lot to a hell of a lot of people.
