Yes - some of the HD's I believe are available but I would be surprised at ch4 even on a 2 metre dish.

I don't think anyone really knows how big the dish has to be down here because it's too big to contemplate. I've seen suggestions of 3.5 to 4 metres.

Believe me - there are many thousands of expats down here who would like it to be different.

The fta versions of the ch4 channels are impossible to receive down here. But the encrypted versions on 12479 V 27500 are still on the European beam so should be available.

This site gives some clues as to dish sizes needed. It is based up north so doesn't have much info this far south but it does say that a 2.4 metre dish is not enough in Rincon de la Victoris which is well north of here.

Will I be able to access the Sky channels? If no BBC then next preferred would be Sky channels.

CDS has been badly hit reception wise with regard tot he new UK TV satellites.

As mentioned it is unlikely your dish will receive the "free to air" offerings from BBC ITV C4 and Fives.

So the channels on the freesat box will be severely limited.

Your SKy box with a sky card should get the encrypted irish C4s on frequency 12480 v 27.5 2/3 - pop this into add channels, and access them via add channels.

The majority of the sky pay channels should be available to you still.

And if you have the SKy HD pack, then ITV2HD, ITV3HD, ITV4HD, Film4HD, E4HD, M4HD and FiveHD should also be available.
