I saw some of those around here not so long ago.

I'm not quite sure how the locals had been using them, but the walls gave the distinct impression of having recently been pebble dashed.

We are talking about the article about toilets in workplaces in the UK, not in foreign countries, so the above smart assed comments are irrelevant.

what other countries do about their toilet needs does not interest me, because I wouldn't dream of setting foot in any of them.

So wether other nationalities think toilet paper is dirty
, and they prefer the high rise type of loo, as seen in 'Slumdog millionaire, is irrelevant.

what goes on in Pakistan, India or whatever other 'istan' country is their business.

Soon you will be advocating that the UK 'adapts' in other ways, washing clothes in the river, all eating with the right hand out of the same pot, and marrying girls off to relatives at aged 14.

Yeah, that's just what we were doing... Just what we were advocating.... *rolls eyes sarcasticaly*

A wether is a castrated male sheep.

But yes, of course, I am definitely in favour of 14 year olds being married off against their will, you can see that from many of my posts.

In India they were the general rule, but people tend to get a seat one installed as they get older as their knees can't take the 'strain'.

More on thread topic a joke---
The spray of water connected to Indian toilets for washinrtfg the behind is in slang terms called by some a 'Muslim shower' as it sprays up instead of down (that is Muslims do things the wrong way round e.g. write from right to left.)

You are all talking rubbish.

The article was about people from EE breaking toilets in B and Q due to standing and squatting on them instead of using the toilets in the way they were intended.

Muslims or Indian toilet habits had not been mentioned.

Then bipat posted about Indian toilet habits, as per usual, then we had LIW saying that those who eat with their right hand think we are dirty, so I take it she meant Muslims.

Actually they jumped in to defend Muslims and Indians before they were even attacked.

As I said before what they do in these places is irrelevant to me, but surely people who come to live and work in the UK should be 'trained' to use the toilets already installed.

Instead they are being broken due to misuse.

So before you start defending the faith, it would be wise to make sure it is being attacked first, or you will just look foolish.

I don't think religion had been mentioned. Just some, and often light-hearted information given about what happens toilet-wise in some other countries. (Hindus also eat with their right hand, unless right sided amputees!!!)

I agree that newcomers to the UK should have it explained what the local habits are (I would not use the word "trained"). It should be expected then that they conform in the work place.

Just one question relating to your previous post. Why is it that what happens in the slums of the UK is just that, but what happens in the slums of other countries is what they all do?

(Take it you haven't heard of the pig toilets of Goa)

So the 2 posts by RM above are just a bit of light-hearted snippets of information about other countries toilet habits?

Funny, I don't think even you believe that, if you are honest. The posts were to get a reaction and you know it.

And are you seriously comparing the slums of the UK with ones in Pakistan India Brazil and other countries, what a laugh.

I said "some" light-hearted, I think you yourself brought religion into the discussion?

I did not compare the slums of various countries, I think you mentioned "slumdog Millionaire" I was questioning why you extrapolate what happens in any slum elsewhere in the world into a general description of that country eg your "washing clothes in a river", "under age girls" etc.

Was that an intended pun;)

Yes Spain and the South of France had those toilets. Suppose it's a sign a country has moved up when they change to ones with a loo seat.:) In Kenya the International airport has proper ones but the domestic airport still has the hole in the floor.

According to a man interviewed on TV recently it is a problem getting the Roma in Sheffield to actually use any toilet, they prefer the street:blink: and the resident being interviewed looked Pakistani...or he could have been Indian. Anyway he was disgusted with them.

Of course JT can support her comments in her last post with real factual evidence.
I would not be surprised of course if she could not as it reads like the usual "excuse the pun " crap.

Wrong again, one of your gang mentioned, how the right hand eaters-left hand wipers think brits are filthy, just check and see.

I am not obsessed with Muslims, I don't know any socially, have no compulsion to get to know any either.

that suits me fine, love.

I did mention in a previous post that Hindus are fervently right hand eaters, but only when eating with a bare hand they use cutlery with both hands!! and as most Brits use cutlery why would they think them "filthy"??
It is just a custom; so they might flinch out of reflex if they see any one eating with left hand but it is not actually thought about.

Just a thought what do the East Europeans, mentioned at the beginning of this topic, do at home?? presumably their lavatories are sitting type?
