I live in Eagle country, I reckon my Pedigree Burman cat went missing like this, he loved the campo far too much.

Could have been a snake I supose?? Guess I will never know.

The story is interesting. It should be a warning to people who have lap dogs and likes to walk through forests and mountain areas ... at least in Spain

I too live in eagle country and they do circle above our roof terrace, as do the vultures.
We also had a very large asp viper snake on our terrace a couple of weeks ago, the largest I've ever seen here!
I don't know which one is was that scared my cat, but she still will not go outside now in the daylight hours.

As far as the eagles go I was very surprised the other day watching some videos on U-Tube, they were showing an eagle attacking a full grown goat....and actually flying off with it.

In Spain there are three species of viper: the asp viper, the snub-nosed viper and Seoane's viper. The most venomous snake is the asp viper

Do you live in the province of Malaga? If so, I think it is impossible that you have seen a asp viper. In Spain, it is only in the Cantabrian cornice
