Britanny Ferries have announced a new route which will commence in July 2009. The route is Portsmouth to Santander/Santander to Portsmouth and will be a crossing of 24 hours. This is 5 hours less than the P&O crossing. This is in addition to the Plymouth to Santander route. The new timetable will be available for new bookings from August 2008.

The P&O route from Portsmouth to Bilbao remains the same.
