Does anyone know if you can get a ham shank (no rude comments) in Spain. OH has to bring them back from the UK on each visit so he can make is fab pea and ham broth!

You must be able to buy them Pam, we have seen them for sale cooked along with roast chickens at our local sudnay market.

Weve looked all over for them but cant find them. We even made a stew with pigs trotters in once to see if it tasted anything like it lol Do you know what its called in Spanish?

Sorry I don't, Katee told me we have even had one! she bought it and cut it into samll cubes and added it to pasta one evening.

I think the best thing to do would be visit your local carneceria and have a look around the counters, they should be on sale in there.

One tip. never buy pre-packed meat from the likes of Carrefour etc, yolu never know what's lurking under the top row of nice looking chops. We bought a big pack of prok chops for a bbq in the summer and found half a pigs head under them!
