I will be arguing that point but also need to know what they are trying to charge....do they take milage into account,,mine has 256,000kms on the clock?

Hola

They calculate the theoretical value of the car by taking the age alone. They then multiply the resultant theoretical value by a percentage according to the emission level - I remember the maximum is 16.75% because the last car I did, an import from Belgium, had that figure applied

Pointless to argue - that's the figure they will use even if it is a total wreck.

pointless to argue that i shouldn´t be charged in the first place..or the way they have come up with the amt due?

You can argue the point about whether you are entitled to avoid the tax because you are registering the car within 60 days of signing on the Padron but the value and resultant tax is not negotiable.

Yeah all done. The Car has the new plates on......so here is what it cost
Certificate of conformity. 70,00
Change of headlights. 220,00
New ficha técnico 127,00
ITV 48,00
Hacienda 0,00
Tráfico. 94,00
New plates 29,00

Total 578,00

Well done, how did you manage that zero at Hacienda?

Fred James, can you post a link to the table with all the values of cars, on which the calculations are based? I saw it online some years ago, it even had boats on it. Can't find it now?

If you re register within 60days of padron and need fiscal evidence of residence in eu country previous to padron
