Re: Border with Portugal.
The bridge is open. Crossed into Portugal at 11.00ES this morning for a medical appointment in Monte Gordo drove to the Monte Gordo link without seeing anybody or another car. First traffic on the outskirts of MG. Returned via the 125 stopped by local police at the railway crossing g R/about asked where I was going, I offered my TIE he did not want to look so I showed him again my address in CE. He then asked why I lived over there and not in Portugal so I said house prices were cheaper. All very friendly and waved on my way with a smile!

I've always thought it was strange that property prices are so much higher in PT. Given that wages/ min salaries etc are less than SP, you might have expected it to be the other way around. Of course the other problem is the Language. I've found it quite easy to get by in Spanish, over many years of holidays and somehow the language seems to make sense, but I cannot fathom Portuguese at all. No wonder they all speak some english !! However, I like both sides of the bridge.

I have been over to Quinta do Vale golf course this morning. I was stopped by the GNR going into Portugal I showed them a copy of my golf booking and he was quite happy with that. There were no Guadia Civil when I returned to Spain

Re: Border with Portugal.
Does anyone have any recent experience of crossing the border from Spain into Portugal over the Guadiana bridge? We heard a rumour the other day that the GNR were turning back people who were trying to cross from Spain, but on the same day heard from another source that there was no problem! We can't find anything in any Spanish or Portuguese expat forums or Facebook groups to suggest that there's a problem, but if people have had difficulties, it would be really useful to hear about them.

I have been over both ways today No issues at all. You need to remember Ayamonte has closed it self off and Portuguese cars are being turned back if the people do not live in Spain. Local Spanish police have been at the Parador roundabout
Portugal has its own restrictions on as well. Curfew from 13.00 to 06.00 am at weekends. Gnr have been at the Toll booths

What's the best source for regularly updated info on restrictions in PT, particularly Algarve?
