Default Border control ferry

Good morning everyone . Happy that we will be visiting Ayamonte soon. We are flying to Faro from UK. Will we need extra documents to cross the border ?
we want to stay in Ayamonte.
Thank you.

Portugal/Spain is Schengen internal border so there is no passport check. If you are in a car, in fact you just drive over a bridge, which marks the border. All you notice is quality of road surface and signs are all in Spanish.

Make sure your hire car company allows you to leave the country in their car.
