When we are all opened up again, what I am keen to hear from UK/ESP resident contributors is if their passports are stamped on arrival and departure. This just to gauge how seriously this will be taken given the various issues at any busy airport we are all familiar with. Not limited to - the queues at AGP in July and August.

Regardless I am sure that your movement is electronically noted regardless of a stamp or not & this is what will appear on the border agents screen.

UK citizens legally and demonstrably resident in Spain, i.e. residencia or TIE, should not have their passports stamped,

I read somewhere (can't find it now - but NO not on FB or Twitter et al) that procedurally an exit stamp should not be applied to a passport in which no entry stamp exists but that's not to intimate that a new passport will be a guaranteed get out for an overstay.

In any case it will be a one off event as non residents will get a stamp the next time they enter the Schengen area.

But hey, there's are only another 14 days to go until we begin to see how it all pans out in practice.

I will be interested to see if those who can prove resident status will still be required to queue with the herd of non EU passport holders.

What makes you think it will be otherwise?
What makes you think UK passport holder has some kind of super entitlement, that AUS/USA/CAN national resident in Spain doesnt?

yep. Unless your a Spanish passport holder you’ll be in with the rest.

Britons are now third country nationals like US citizens etc, except that some of us are beneficiaries of the withdrawal agreement, having a special status in EU not available to other third country nationals. So those with residence document issued under the withdrawal agreement, and the old green certificate, are exempt from some of the scrutiny and the stamping of passport with Schengen entry/exit stamp. Whether it makes sense to create a separate line for them at EU borders is something open for discussion.

British are Expats, everyone else is a foreigner, immigrant, migrant or asylum-seeker.

It is how the British see themselves.

Do the Spanish call the British expats in Spanish? Nop!

End of the non-EU queue now please. Brexit dividend....

But hey ho, we can wave our new blue passports...

Having travelled extensively over the years, I find the 'foreigners' queue at airports is faster than the others.
All the British travelling home after their holidays will be ushered through the UK passport holders only route, so that will be nice and fast.

I had heard (and I think it may have been mentioned here) that the TIE might be accepted by the automatic barrier at EU airports, I know the German and Italian Id cards work in these . Might be worth a try.

I flew Malaga to London on Saturday (13th) and can confirm all passports in the queue ahead of me were being stamped.

I am just waiting on collecting my TIE card, and I have a "Regresso" letter. My passport was not stamped. I am flying back to Spain on Tuesday through Madrid so will be interesting to see what happens on entry.

Interestingly enough, EU citizens can still use the E-gates at Heathrow.

E-gates at UK ports are for a number of nationalities considered 'safe', such as US, Canadian, Australian, Japanese, South Korean etc, as well as EU citizens.

In the past Gibraltar was not included in the list of EU countries at UK entry points, therefore I used what I considered was the fastest moving queue without any problem.

Another point:- The Spanish Ministry for the interior has dismantled the biometric readers that it installed at the frontier in 2015
