Wink Books and DVD's

We live South of Valencia and wondered where we can purchase English novels and DVD's either cheap new ones or second hand ones as we are on a tight budget. Does anyone know of places please.

You have got me thinking now....we have loads of paperbacks which we were intending to take with us to Spain but then decided against it as there are so many (we read a lot ) I'm wondering if there could be a market for them over there

Hi Rosemary, we have an English book shop in Denia, and I believe there is also one somewhere in Valencia.

But what we have found quite useful is that if you go to the Sunday markets there are often people selling books.

At Els Poblets on Saturday there is a big book stall that sells new and second hand. If you buy a new book, they stamp it and you can take it back to them when read and get a 50% credit against another book. Same people at Pedregeur on Sundays.

Failing that amazon, cdwow or someone like that on line

There is also at least one English bookshop in Javea. In Denia, the charity shops usually have a good supply. Loads of stalls selling books and DVDs on Denia's Friday fleamarket too and I expect the ones closer to you are similar.

Use Play.com - they do free delivery across Europe the last time I used them for books and DVDs.

I think cdwow might have started doing books as well.

Try your local car boot sales, plenty of them around, and plenty of the stalls have books and DVDs, cost are from €1 to €3, and even as low as 50c, most stalls will give you 50% back when you return them.

Just go to any commercial centre with bars in a tourist area, you will be very unlucky NOT to be offered DVDs.
