Default The Best Beaches in Spain

Everyone has their opinion on where the best beaches are. Let's see if we can put a definitive list together from BE Spain board.

Please, try to keep this serious as the data we get can be useful and will maybe have some media mileage.

Post here your top three in order of preference (ie. 1 best etc) and put in the name of the beach and the town (if it's in an area of a bigger town, please put both area name and town name)

Try to think about other places you've visited and not restrict it to the 10km radius around your home!!!

When we have enough, I'll post a shortlist of the most popular for everyone to then vote for the best from that list.

Some Rules:
  • Only one top three selection per user.
  • Towns can't be repeated in top three (ie Don't bother doing 1. Marbella Main Beach; 2 Marbella West; 3 Marbella East - only one will be counted!)
  • Try to resist the temptation to go off topic - I know, it will be tough, but try!!!

Have fun and lets see what we can get.

My top beaches are

Chanteiro - Galicia

Muros - Galicia

Laraxe - Galicia

But for a seaside resort without a great beach, I woud go for Culleredo, in Asturias, with all the little coloured houses in a "bowl" around the harbour.

Forgive my ignorance, but Bologna? That's not in Spain as far as I know. Can you enlighten me? Otherwise I'll take Fuente and Cabo as your 1-2

It's a beach between Tarifa and Barbate.

Yep, that's the one. Because it sounds the same, I think my brain stored it as the other spelling.

Ok, good call!

Let's get some more choices. The list will be published, not just here but in the papers too (if it's good enough )

One could argue that it really is the same beach considering it is uninterrupted between El Terron and Pubta del Caiman! But I'll put them down anyway (although I think it's one!)

OK, First two great. South of Santander. Can you be a tad more specific given that the most of Spain is South of Santander. Presume you mean something like Concha, Covachos, Arnia???
