Default Benidorm/Costa Blanca Pay Rates

Hello all,

First post (go gentle with me ).

I am fully aware of the unemployment situation over there, difficulties in getting a job, etc but would appreciate your input into my potential move research.

My quick question is, what in your experience/opinion are the current hourly rates of pay for the following jobs at in your sunny neck of the woods.

> Estate Agent (Admin) with contract (Fluent English, basic Spanish).

> Bar Staff/Club Staff with contract

Many thanks for your help with my first brain picking post.

Steve.

Hi and a warm welcome to the Spanish forum on BE. Myself and Fred James are the moderators for the Spanish forums whilst BEVS moderates Europe. Moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. This is so that members gain the information that they are looking for and find their experiences on the forums to be friendly and worthwhile.

Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderator who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are usually friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the issues of living in Spain. I hope that you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

The first thing to say is that Spain does actually have the concept of a minimum wage (despite what many expats have told me over the years). This is set at 640€ (gross) per month for a 40 (I think) hour week. This works out at 4€/hour !!!!! ... and then you pay tax and SS on that figure.

So, just be warned!
