Default becoming self-employed in Spain

How easy is it to become self-employed in Spain? I have an existing business with a virtual and international clientele and want to move to the sun.

Hi and a warm welcome to the Spanish forum on BE. Myself and Fred James are the moderators for the Spanish forums whilst BEVS moderates Europe. Moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. This is so that members gain the information that they are looking for and find their experiences on the forums to be friendly and worthwhile.

Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderator who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are usually friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the issues of living in Spain. I hope that you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Not so easy as the UK
Seguridad Social:Trabajadores
I would suggest you find a good gestoria to help you register. You could also be a one person company and still be classed as an "autónomo".
What your work will determine what you can claim as expenses for tax purposes. You will have to be I.V.A (VAT) registered.

I am self-employed and live in Spain working from home via the internet. I used a gestor to set it up for me and still send him all my invoices and receipts to do my quarterly and annual tax returns. He charges me EUR30.00 per month but worth every penny. He set up my social security payments and everything. Apart from having a couple of meetings with him and signing some forms, he did everything. I wouldn't have attempted to try to do it myself.
