I know it wont help some people in Spain, but for those of you who know how to get around it will find it beneficial !

The BBC is to broadcast its flagship channel live on the internet
within months.
All BBC1 programmes will be simulcast on the corporation's website, to
be watched by anyone in the UK with a computer and broadband access.

Personally I find think its a crafty way of extending the TV license to cover internet connections. Now the government will change the law to say you have to have a TV license if you have a television OR a broadband connection.

As I have read the link and it is different to this text, I assume this is not cut and pasted from somewhere else.

is the iPlayer compatible with the Mac now?

it is worth noting that the UK ISP's have been complaining to the beeb that with all the people using Iplayer it is slowing down all their networks and compromising other users (please dont drift this thread into a speed comparison thread!). they have asked if they can get the beeb to pay for upgrades to help satisfy the additional bandwith requested by iplayer users, so god knows how a 24/7 bbc1 stream will affect the networks when it starts....
