Default BBC One HD and BBC HD gone on Sky+HD

This morning the BBC changed the transmission standard of their HD channels from DVB-S to DVB-S2.

Even though I have pretty good 2D reception here in Valencia (just about 24/7), I'm getting the 'no satellite signal being received' banner on both channels.

Is anyone else having the same problem, with their Sky/Freesat HD boxes?

We are on the Granada coast. Our Freesat box updated automatically and the signal strength/quality is at least as good and possibly slightly better than it was before.

All OK where I am.
Only noticed a (very) small drop in signal.
But have seen an increase from 7.5m to 9m+ in BBC HD bitrate.

Some Freesat boxes did not update automatically, and yuou wil have to do a Freesat scan again.
AFAIK all SkyHD boxes updated automatically.
All other non Sky / non Freesat boxeds will have to be retuned

Perhaps if you have a Sky box a reboot will help...so it doenloads the EPG again?

Seems to be a problem with some Thomson boxes.

Apparently the boxes with a real problem are the expensive Panasonic Freesat TVs and receivers.

The only solution with them is a factory reset which works but you lose all your settings and customised channels.

Oh SH*T my Panasonic Freesat Plazma has been great up to now the best tuner of all the ones I have including 2 SKY + boxes and a SKY box. We did get all 4 free to air HD channels and the reception on each was more stable than the equivalent SD channel. We have been pretty busy with visitors for the last few days and not had TV on at all so I am scared to go through and check 108, 109, 119 and 133 if its all gone t*ts up I shall be really teed off no time at the moment to fiddle with things. Any further info on the problem Fred?

Panic over the BBC HD channels are still there and seem at least as good as before. Maybe Panasonic did an up-date overnight so not using the tele was good.

It's possible the BBC changed some of the transponder ID data as it seems this was what was causing the problem with the Panny boxes - they must have been getting a lot of flack about it!

Or maybe your box was not one of the ones that had the problem.

The Internet forums suggest that some Panny boxes may have updated OK.

Yes, with satellite dish (1.4 may just do it, 1.8 should do OK) and satellite receiver.

Problem solved. Anyone who had manually added channels from the BBC HD transponder wasn't updated. Needed to delete them and reboot.

Signal not as strong though as before.
