Re: BBC 'Living in the sun'
OK i have kept off this thread because i loved the Nadia series, i know it showed a very unrealistic image of Spain, and if people move there based on a single series and look no further than that for info then more fool them and they deserve the consequences, sorry but they do.
But dear god this presenter is an arse! If there was anyone who i would lock in a room alone until he resorted to tearing at his own flesh and eating his own...............anyway, you get the idea, it would be him. Where did Nadia go? I love her style, she isnt at all false like this git, and she honestly connected with people, he just irritates them! My piece said, carry on! |
Re: BBC 'Living in the sun'
I have only seen the last couple of episodes, and have to agree re the presenter. Bring back Nadia. :)
But some of the Brits featured still make me laugh out loud with their comments of the Better "Spanish" way of life. when they then reject anything remotely to do with Spain. Prefering to live in a Brit ghetto, rather than a house that is "just too Spanish" .

Re: BBC 'Living in the sun'
On this mornings programme a couple from Northumberland had sold their newsagents and retired to Spain. They looked at some properties and when they chose the one they liked best they put an offer in and completed and moved in within 10 days ...... that just wouldn't happen in England, it would take 10 days just to get the report back from the surveyor!

Re: BBC 'Living in the sun'
We did not have a survey either, but the place was built in 1947 on a bed of rock, it has withstood earthquakes etc and the other half knew what he was looking at.
Have been told, at least around here, that a survey consists of an architect turning up and seeing the house is still standing so completes the form to say it is ok. pwwm |
