Baggage handlers strike?
Friends flying out on Monday are asking if we've heard rumours of a baggage handlers strike in Spain and therefore they are not loading baggage onto planes in the UK. It might be restricted to Madrid which wouldn't affect them. I haven't heard anything. Has anyone?

I heard it for Wednesday just gone but thought it was to do with the general strike (which didn't seem to happen in my area!)

Yes, I can't find anything anywhere - I think it's just a rumour.

the strike at the airport was nuts, the baggage handlers were putting trolleys in the road and we needed a police escort to get thru the picket line
