Re: Ayamonte - Isla Canela
Hola!
Looks like the tables have been turned (momentarily), and the rain falleth on the Costa de la luz, while, here in the UK, it is sunshine ++(well... not at 11pm). How strange... I heard that it rains traditionally during the Feria de Abril in Sevilla - has the Feria started or will it start next week (2 weeks after Semana santa, which would be May then... )? After the Feria, the temperature rises. Read a bit about the Feria de gambas at Punta Umbria (yumm!) Anyone been to it? Buenas noches y hasta manana, Carol |

[QUOTE=newinspain]...Another thing that I like in the paper/site is Lulu. She make sme smile! :o ...{QUOTE]
Hi Tilly, I could have this totally wrong, but... :o I think the choice of name is unfortunate. Doesn't lulu mean (hacer lulu = orinar = do a #1) in children's lingo? Otherwise, I've enjoyed the read! Carol :o :o |

Carol - so sorry to here about your problems at Costa Esuri. Tily :) |
Re: Ayamonte - Isla Canela
Hi Tilly,
Thanks for your concern. :) I'll bet someone out there has heard of "lulu" before? Perhaps it depends on which region one comes from? :o O.k. enough already with the potty-talk. Did you get to see Sevilla during the Feria de abril? Or, did you get to see my favourite Carmen Sevilla, either in Sevilla at the Feria, or in Huelva at the Feria de gambas (Punta Umbria)? She always makes me smile, such a wonderful star of the cinema/tv. Regards, Carol |

Carol The day that i went to the Jerez Horse Fair there was nothing to see! We drove there had some luch and a look around then went on to Cadiz. We picked the wrong day to go! Since then we have been to the Villablanca Romeria, which was a great weekend. The Flamenco dresses and traditional costumes were a joy to see. The women looked beautiful and the men very proud. This weekend was the Fun 'n' Sun Harley Davidson meet in Monte Gordo. There were some good bands, a stunt show and hundreds of Harleys to have a look at. On Saturday there was a parade where they all crossed the bridge into Spain and cruised around Ayamonte and then back over to Portugal. The here weather is amazing and a couple of days have been so hot that i thought I might melt! I have attached a couple of photos of the Romeria. Tilly :) |

Regards, Carol The Madera Bar/ Pizzeria in Villablanca was the venue for Flamenco lessons every Monday night but I am not sure if they are still happening, I will find out and let you know. Miguel's daughter was teaching the Men first and then the women. Some of them were putting it into practise at the Romeria, which was great to see. |
