One of our local freebies - I won't say which one as I don't want to get any grief from the moderators, suffice it to say the really dodgy newspaper - put on the front page of its Almeria edition yesterday the following piece of, ahem, news:
'...as a result of the increase in heat waves and the loss of beaches, Spanish tourists will opt for holidays in the north of Spain and European tourists will stay home in their own countries'.
Discuss.

The loss of a strip of beach is not goiong to put Spaniards off holydaying in their own costas. It is a time honoured tradition which will not die due to the lack of dineros or the lack of a bit of sand.
In a word your freebie paper is talking, bol..cks!!!!!

I actually feel sorry for Brit holiday firms specialising in holidays in the UK.
They must have thought that they had it made this year, and then the crap weather hit for the second year running. Who wants to holiday in the UK when you could stay at home and watch the rain?

Lenox, do you mean the weekly newspaper which is run by the most hated and despised British couple on the Costa del Sol?

I did have the rather unpleasant experience of spending an evening with them. We more or less decided within minutes these were't people we wanted to do business with.
Is it true all these rumours I hear about them practicing, ahem, their, shall we say, 'swing'?

Yep. You'll have to google weeniewatch.
As far as the disappearing beaches go, maybe this is a case for Leaky Lee.

What’s the problem with the weather bil? I woke up to a beautiful November day today. Gusty winds and rain. Very bracing.

The bonus side is that at this rate my selective plant breeding should soon produce the as yet unheard of 'swimming geranium' that can make it's own way to higher ground.

Blimey, what with a page three Cliffy, mainstream opinion about Turkey, Italian Nazis and Tony Blair, Leaky Lee on Chinese fascism and the full SKY TV listings, there's more about Spain in The Beano.
