Default Awnings

I've just had a quote for one of those terrace awnings that are on a metal frame, and the material blind can be wound accross the top, hope you know what I mean

Been quoted €800 for a 3 x 2.5 m size .... anyone bought one of these and knows if this is reasonable? Or anyone know of a supplier in the Northern CB area

Thanks for your help

Leroy's or Brico Depot at Bonaire had them if that helps.

Look up "toldos" in your area telefone book. I have had some made and others repaired but I had the frames already. I have found a very reliable maker near me but thats no good for you there.

I bought one from VIAL Carpinterias just last week, size is 3.6mtrs wide by 2.1mtrs pull out to full extension, the price? yeah a wallet breaking 99€!!!!!!

Not a misprint, 99euros, ok so I have to bolt it to the wall myself and when its up I have to wind it out with a long pole, but sacrifices have to be made If you want a motorised one the same size then its 400€

They are a chain of outlets so you should find one on the North CB

We brought one from Casa for just under 200 hundred Euro it is free standing and very heavy looking My other half works in metal and he said it is very stong. They have them in Brico depot at the moment and in Leroy. They are no where near the 800 euro mark.

Could I be a pain and ask if they are further north than Denia? Alzira? Cullera? Algemesi? Carcaixent?

Be aware, two types, one bolts to the wall you can wind it out manual or electric,or the best for long term, bolts to the wall but has a frame fixed to the ground so you can have side curtains,i think the later is the best if you get windy conditions, plus it gives shelter from the sides, its more like a conservatory, but you have the options of rolling up the sides,on a budget, option 1,comfort option two.

Thanks everyone, might pop to Denia tomorrow as I know where Casa is, we bought our big terrace umbrellafrom there ... worth finding VIAL Carpinterias as well by the sounds of it.

Im sure the one I've been quoted for is excellent, I'm just interested to see what the alternatives are. Spending too much on them might not be a good idea as with the hurricanes we get up here it will probably end up on top of a car at the bottom of the valley anyway!!

Mittzy one point to remember,if you are fitting diy, make sure you get good fixings as the spanish walls are normaly hollow block,so you need the type that you push into the wall then it opens out,its then not meant to pull back, but my experience is that the block walls just give way, again i would go down the have it installed route. If you do fancy diy,try makro they had a 3mx2m for about 100 euro.

For the spanish walls get yourself a tube of epoxy resin in stock at most builders merchants, 2 part special noxel that mixes as you dispense drill your holes squirt a good proportion better all the tube as it don,t keep in your holes quickly put your anchor bolts in sets in ten mins wont ever come loose.

Just get a bag of Yesu for about a euro and fill the hole with that.
Have you seen the bricklayers corner line poles, that is what they are stuck to the wall with. ;-))
