I lived just outside Torrevieja for a few years, but that was before Brexit but your Irish Passport sorts those problems out. I would suggest looking a few miles out of Torrevieja rather than the town itself as parts are a bit run down, Punta Prima, Cabo Roig, La Zenia and Playa Flamenca are all close and have their own markets, or did when I lived there. Renting shouldn't be a problem as most places are fully furnished in any case, or at least were when we were renting there, just been having a look at the area now on Google Earth, quite a few changes, as you would expect, there are decent shopping centers and supermarkets around as well.

Hi thanks for your reply back so quickly, yes Torriwviwja parts look worn down, I was looking at place like La Mata, but not to dear in that area or close to it, I need good shopping centre and medical centres close by, I need a two bedroom appartment second floor with decent furniture for at least 6 months or more depending, from mid January, plus my partner and our grandkids will come over at some point for a easter break, I also dont want a shared roof top only for me., dont want my clothes robbed,, Like I said I will be retiring next year cannot wait, I seen paradice world video's Chaps name Colin he seem know his stuff, so there can any one help me out in best decent place, any links to agents or are genuine not rip off merchants, I want to buy a property eventually , but must rent first, safest option,

Basically Torrevieja town is mostly flats and the central area is very spanish in that working folk live there. Foreigners often find it a bit too much as its quite noisy with lots of traffic and losts of hussle and bustle. That said if you really want to live in Spanish culture its fine but if you expect something more sedate and less Spanish the outer places like la zenia, playa flememca our popular with foreigners. La Mata is very much like this. However, these places have recently become quite expensive and renting is difficult. Also be awars that torrevieja is one of the fastest growing towns in spain especially for russians and ukranians so traffic and parking is getting ridiculous.

The Russians have been around since the beginning of 2000, and when there was a house price crash around 2002 they were buying everything, we had a Russian estate agent round when we put our house on the market, but she spent a good part of the time she was there talking, in Russian, on her phone instead of doing what agents should be doing, so we weren't going to go with them, however as she was leaving, just to really upset her I said Good Bye, in Russian, showed her I did know some, she had no idea, but yes, I did have GCSE Russian so did understand some.
