Default Which area to choose

Hi, My husband and I are looking into moving to Costa Blanca but unsure which area would suit us. We are 62 and 60yrs of age and plan on retiring there as soon as possible. We want an area that has a good mix of ex pats as well as other nationalities. We would like to be in a safe area, close to amenities and beaches but not anywhere that is like a ghost town in the winter months. One area we have looked at is Gata De Gorge. Can anyone give me some advice and help, and does anyone know what that area is like please? Thanks

Hi, I presume you are referring to Gata De Gorgos ?, I have been there a few times as it's quite well known for it's furniture and wicker.
It's a little inland if you want close to the coast but if you drive it's only around 20mins away , the feeling you get is predominantly spanish but there are many expats about.

It's a working town so it's not a ghost town any time of year, i can't comment on safety as I've only spent short periods there, I'm not the sort of person to feel unsafe anyway but i will say i feel safer when i am in Spain than back in the UK
