Default Which area?

Myself, hubby and our 4 kids are thinking about moving to Spain. We want to live somewhere that doesn't cost the earth, renting for first year with good schools etc.

Where does everyone live that they would recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Obviously depends on what you like, town or country, coast or inland and how deep your pockets are, its very unlikley you will find work unless you speak fluent spanish and even then its difficult, kids over 3 or 4 find it tough intergrating into spanish schools and you usually have to pay a lot for the private english speaking ones, plan very carefully and you will have a great time I`m sure but bear the above in mind

Rgds

I think it depends on your taste and whether you're looking for a "little britain in spain" or you want to really live in with the spanish people. We're looking to move in the next couple of years and are trying to visit as many different areas before making the move to get a feel of where we want to be. We're looking for something not touristy (like Blackpool in Spain) but we also want some expats around us. Also, for us, the more expensive areas are generally the nicer areas

Well, for instance you will find the Northern Costa Blanca cheaper in general than the Costa Del Sol.
When we looked we started in Altea, North of Benidorm and moved further and further North until we found we got better value here in Oliva than anywhere else.

I've seen people mentioning VERY cheap properties around Torrivieja, but depends if thats the kind of area you like

Blimey ..... big question!
Theres a lot of stuff on here about cost of living if you use search

Roughly
Council tax €400 per year 2 bed detached with pool
Electric about €80ish per month
Telephone internet €70 per month
Car Tax 2 lit diesel €100 per year
Water €40 - €70 per quarter with pool

Rental? Well, depends on what you want but €380 pm upwards maybe http://www.kyero.com/browse/coastal-...t1srt0twn53477
