Apple have , I believe , paid out to users of iphones deliberately slowed down , in the USA.
There is a similar action filed in the UK.Plus one in Italy.
I have done a search and here in Spain affected users are, I believe , represented by OCU. There are currently 51,000 registered users.I intend to register. I had and still have a 6S and actually went to the Marbella Apple shop and had a new battery fitted at my expense of course.
The OCU action is seeking between. 99 and 189 euros per user.
anyone else affected or registered?

As far as I know the new battery should have been FOC, in fact it was on my UK 6s where they simply gave me a new phone after I returned to the store a couple of hours later.
Check with Apple as they will refund given that is the case.

Dont expect too much based on the press reports.
In the US Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy LLP the lead lawyers behind the class action in the US got a settlement that means each user who registered with them should get around 90 USD and most of those that didnt will get nothing . The 90 dollars is now being paid out.
My guess is a euro action will probably win but the award will be far less but so will the legal fees so you might get 50 yo 100 euros eventually if you sign up.

Will always buy Apple myself now as they update their kit for years without fail (who else does that) found any iPhone I have had to be reliable & always work.
Think (?) they are more secure than many of the Android stuff.
My 6s was bought secondhand but they replaced it FOC as I said.

Yes, but they are bloated Samsung updates released when Samsung decide to take the updates from Google. Apple updates are released to all appropriate devices when they are released.

Well, you could get a Pixel 8 which also has 7 years of updates. No need wait as Google develop Android and manufacture the Pixel (perhaps the EU will have something to say about that) but Google's after-sales service is terrible though.

I guess buying a practically unfixable device and paying a subscription to the same manufacturer to make the problems go away is one way of doing it.
Another way is something like a Fairphone or a Nokia G22 where it's fixable by yourself or any repair shop.
