Joyce, I dont know if youre going to the costa del sol or not, but if you are Im organising a meetup group for newbies to the Costa. Im also trying to get people involved who have been there for a while to share experiences. In the grand hope of people making new friends.

What a great idea, onlineamiga!

Nice photo on the site too! Er, just one thing, is that a dog collar you are sporting, or is the photo cropped and you've really got a tie on?

Yup its a dog collar you got me there

Nah its a tie, it was cropped because it was a family portrait photo, my brothers were at the side of me, but i chopped em out for that instance. It was a photo of when i was looking my very best. but is a couple of years old now.

No Joyce, my husky was abandoned and my other well, hes kindof a gremlin like thing I "bought" ... or put another way "was done"! into getting. I am afraid I am not really a cat person, horses and dogs, but, if you love your cats, ask your vet... make sure they have any relevant injections etc., the older one might find the heat a bit much, but animals can adapt, and you can ensure they have a cool spot and plenty of water !

I will be going it alone. I'm the first to admit I like my own company though.

It is different, you need to be careful and have your wits about you, but I think there are quite a few of us single women do this - and good on us for having the guts I say !

Good luck, if you want to chat or have any questions, I will try and help if I can !

Well done LA, you were very brave and I'm glad it all worked out for you. I'm 37 and moving to Andalucia in September. My situation is a bit different though. I won't be alone, because my boyfriend is Spanish and I'm moving to Spain to be with him, but it's still a daunting thought, to give up my life in the UK and start again. Exciting, but scary!
