Are you referring to premium bonds or savings? To date I have never cashed in any of my premium bonds so can't comment on that. I have a savings account with them also and drew some money out of that a while back and it didn't take 5 days to get into my current account. I think it was around a day?

It all depends at what time you do the cash in.
Ive not been able to get into my account due to the security questions not being the ones I answered. You can fill in an online form and this will then pay to the nominated account but it takes around four to five days.
Ive waited for up to ten days for the cash in from premium bonds to get to my account...

Pleased to report: It took "only" three days to receive funds from NS&I.
