Anyone been on a cruise
Is it boring? We can get some really cheap cruises round the med from here, but I don't want to spend the nights watching crap cabaret

Re: Anyone been on a cruise
Been on three ... one around the Aegean and up to Istanbul, one down the Nile and one around the Western part of the Med.
Wouldn't do it again for any extended period of time (like, more than a couple of days).
You have to:
1) REALLY like the people you are cruising with (you inevitably get collared by some bored one Day 1 ... no, not the OH!)
2) REALLY like watching fat people fight for the buffet
3) REALLY like spending WAY more than you wanted at the bar
4) REALLY not want to see any of the countries that you are 'visiting'
I'm 36 and I think I've still got some energy to see more and experience more than I got out of a cruise. But, if you just fancy a float on a boat and to soak up some rays then you may enjoy it.
From the tone of your question I reckon you'd be bored witless. Stick with a day trip (maybe overnight) and you'll be happier.
Why did I do it then? Sex basically, my travelling companion was hot.

Sounds like a no then
I thought if we were stopping off in a country every day it might be OK, but as for soaking up the rays I'm trying to stay out of the 42 degree temperatures at the moment
Thanks for confirming what I probably already thought

Re: Anyone been on a cruise
Yep been on one - the boat was fantastic - the food was fantastic -couldnt ask for better service - the places we visited were unforgettable but i would not go on another cruise unless it was in dry dock - i didnt like the motion very sicky - sometimes we had to anchor out at sea and the transport to land was even worse than the big boat - sick each time - i felt very caged in - yes i know the boat was massive but still i felt caged in but i think it was phycological coz i couldnt get off when i wanted. The entertainment was really good - there were loads of bars and a casino so there was loads to do -the pools were great - everything was good but i didnt like it if you know what i mean - i know that doesnt make sense but its how i felt and still do - we went with Princess cruises to the Carribean - like i say i cant fault it i just didnt like being on a boat.
