Default Any Webmasters?

Hello Nice People,
I'm presently living in Budapest and have reached the point where I know that it's time to move to Spain (aided by the political situation here....I'm not too fond of riots outside our door!). Also I have a young son, and I just know that Spain IS the place for children.
Are there any webmaster working there who might offer some advice re the tax setup they enjoy? I'm presently "Offshore", though gather that being a Spanish resident would negate that. Thanking for all information in advance.

PS: Yes, I know that the best info comes from talking to an accountant, but I always like to go into any dicussion with alittle more than just my **** in my hand!
PPS: Absolutely brilliant forum. When I moved to Spain many moons ago there was no Internet!! And though I ended up staying for over 7 years, those 1st 6 months of finding one's feet were pretty stressfull/interesting.
PPPS: Whooo...my 1st post!

Hi littlelambfound and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry you don't have too many responses to your questions.

The only "offshore" web work to be found in Spain would be Gibraltar, where you could enjoy the best of both worlds. If you are interested in other parts of Spain, I'm afraid I can't be of help.

Do a bit of googling, you never know what you might find.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on.

PS What exactly is the situation in Budapest? I had visited there a few years back (part business, part pleasure) and I thought it was lovely.

To work offshore you would still be linked to someones tax and vat system ie for spain to be off shore stay where you are but customers like a bit more contact or gib or andorra both of which have there own tax and vat systems you are not exempt in either place gib is not cheap and im 20 min from andorra and to live there costs a lot of lolly nice yo visit but keep it that way. when ever i talk to people you have to say you are either coming or not.

Thankyou for the kind replies. I presently enjoy the the services of a company based in Cyprus, going through a US entity based out of Wyoming (just Land Tax to pay) and finally reaching me via the good old Swiss. My understanding is that the Spanish regard all "World" income as taxable. I was just enquiring if anyone might know of a work-a-round. I find it hard to believe that all those self employed earning above 40-something-000 Euro are actually paying almost 50% to the taxman.
Budapest is a great place to visit...for the max of a week! Though it's about the size of Bristol, the comparison must end there. After so many years of imposed Socialism, Budapest is only slowly catching up in terms of all that might make a stay pleasant, everything from service (be appalled) to shortermism (be very appalled). Whenever my old Spanish friends visit, they simply sum it up regarding the people here by commenting, "Falta luz".
So, for the duration of a week, all should be interesting.

Yes but if you want the benefits of the health system etc you pay your dues and yes in every country in Europe people that earn 40k plus they pay there taxes. its part of modern life in all countries in europe there have a tiered taxing system. i know people that earn in exsess of 160k but they still pay tax just a lot more
