Default Any thoughts on La Mata, south Costa Blanca????

Hi forum!

This is my first post and I'd like to start off by saying "hi" to everyone. After many years of talking/dreaming About buying a little bolthole in Spain I've decided that 2017 is to the year that I actually do something about it. After much internet research I've identified La Mata, just outside Torrevieja as the most likely place to buy - in terms of amenities and value for money. I would be very interested in getting any unbiased views from anyone who knows the area. I'll be going over on an inspection trip in February and want to use the time before then to do as much research as I can. Many thanks, in advance.

I'd say La Mata is a good choice. Good access to Alicante and great beaches nearby. Not as 'busy' as the other side of Torrevieja.
We've got a place about 15 minutes inland and have friends in La Mata, so we know it quite well.

Thanks, lutonlad! Much appreciated. Our research is pointing to La Mata as a decent choice so it's good to get your take on it. We've stayed in Los Altos before but feel La Mata would be more suitable. Sitting here freezing in Belfast, wish I was in Spain this morning!
