Any Good Directions
Hi All
In your own opinions what would be the most cost effective way to travel from Cannes to Valencia?
Im having trouble finding flights under 400 quid each, I think the train has than many changes Ill get lost and the car drive although do-able will be a bit of a trek. Anyone done the trip? How long did it take? best route/ method / price ?
Anyone please???
Thanks

Well, to give you an idea, Oliva (70 kms past Valencia) to Montpellier is a reasonable days drive, i.e. 9 till 5 ish with a lunch break and I'm guessing its about 5-6 hours from cannes to Nimes. Its motorway all the way. Join the E15 at Nimes

Re: Any Good Directions
Most cost efficient.
Drive 80 miles to Montpellier airport.
Then take Ryanair Flight FR 633
Reg fare Adult Reg Fare 0.01 EUR
Wed, 17 Oct 07
Flight FR 633 09:25 Depart Montpellier (MPL)
10:35 Arrive London Stansted (STN)
Then
Adult Reg Fare 14.99 GBP
Wed, 17 Oct 07
Flight FR8325 17:25 Depart London Stansted (STN)
20:55 Arrive Valencia (VLC)
Easy
I picked this date at random, and other dates may be more expensive. But sometimes it pays to think out other options.

Mitziboy,
I think that the last time that I did it it took me from Nice to Barcelona about 8hrs, including stops for gas & lunch

I don't know Mitzyboy. I can't remember because we did it quite a few years ago. Just remember getting up very early in the morning and by the afternoon (it was still daylight and it was in March) we were passing through.
Did you have a look at the link?
I just did a c/p from there and then put the link in to be on the safe side.

For my UK and European driving I've found it to be pretty accurate. My experience is that car odometers vary hugely for the same route. Is it a five course lunch plus a siesta?

On Autoroute it gives 6hrs 10min, but that is set at my speeds which are not that excessive. (you can set speeds for all types of roads) For Cannes/Valencia it gives 8hrs 20min.

Well ....... it depends on the package you bought. If you bought a Tom Tom or Garmin in the UK, then the software is in English. You'd need to buy a Spanish Satnav package for it to speak in Spanish. They all use the same sat info for coordinates, but its the package that deciphers it and tells you where to go

Sorry mate, thats just impoooooooosible. Driving at 120 km per hour it takes me, on the motorway, just around 4 hours to make Barcelona from here. On the same basis with a couple of stops it takes around 8 hours to get to Montpellier which is past Nimes. Then theres still a fair old run to Cannes. Is it possible its calculating the route using one of those cars that runs over water
