Our car has been broken for weeks now and, fed up of carrying litres of water every day, we decided to hire a car for a day and stock up on loads of water and food....combined with a nice christmas shopping day out for me

So, up at the crack of dawn this morning to fetch our car from the airport and then....drove into town to find everything shut, not a soul to be seen....oh yes, it's another bank holiday.

So we finally have a car but nowhere to go! We feel like fools!

San Nicolas de Bari. Dia de la Constitucion, lots of places stay closed tomorrow as well! Shops also closed Saturday, Immaculada Concepcion.

Here shops will be open on Sundays up till Christmas...yippeeee

There should be some supermarkets open, but it doesn`t take a lot of persuading for the shops to shut till Mon 10.00 in Spain, PT should be ok though.

Here shops were closed on Thursday and they closed early today. They closed at 14:00 (which is normal) but they didn't reopen at 18:00.

They are always closed on Sundays here too.

In many places Sunday shopping starts tomorrow for the run-up to Christmas / Reyes. Lots of the big shops will be open but undoubtedly it'll vary from region to region.
