Its not always the case though, most of that is manufacturer driven.
My iPhone is a 3GS. That's ancient in terms of iPhones which is now up to 5 or 6, I believe. The only problem I have with it is I cant easily find a back cover for it, the rest is fine as far as I am concerned. My camera isn't as good as the latest and I am sure there are little things mine wont do that the 6 does, but Apple would make you think its a relic that needs to be put down

I have to tell you though I just bought a smart TV. It has an additional unit you can buy that you fit on the back which means that in time you can actually upgrade your TV without buying a new one every time they bring out a new model. Mind you, you need a bloody degree to figure out how to work the thing ..... you can even log on to it when you are away to look at what is going on in your house (why you would want to do that, who knows ...)

That's pretty clever.

Will it upgrade it from a 42" to a 50"?

Now that would be really clever!

Whilst I am in the UK I know if anyone goes into my house in Spain. I know instantly if there's a power cut as well

So do I.

One of the benefits of having damned good neighbours, who can immediately sort it out as well as deal with resultant problems, without any undue worry or hassle for me.

I remember the man on holiday who checked his house and seen people in it and rang the police and they were caught and he had made a copy .

They're a big family so it's very rare they're all out the house at the same time.

In any event I have excellent back-up in the form of great neighbours on the other side.

Do you have back-up, ......and please don't say the cops ?

I phoned them about a year or more back about a house being burgled in the next street.

Still waiting for them to arrive !

I changed back from being wireless when I discovered a young Spanish computer whizz kid neighbour had access to all my stuff including my security cameras. His dad found it on his computer and showed me it.

I had passwords a mile long but it made no difference. I don't like the kid because he sprayed graffiti on my wall as well.
