El PaÃs in English: 'Government mulls amnesty for owners of illegally built homes
Policy document suggests that those who bought “in good faith†could see off threat of bulldozer'
Well, it's a start, although the suggestion is already getting the ecologists' naturally-dyed wooly underwear in a twist.

It never ceases to amaze me how the Spanish government can just bulldoze British properties based on the fact it was corrupt local officials and corrupt developers who were in the wrong, not the (mostly) British owners.
Just goes to show how much anti-British sentiment there is in Spain, that the government is prepared to protect Spaniards over Brits who got ripped off.
Brits who go to Spain are stupid. The Spanish do not like you, and you will never be one of them, no matter how well you speak Spanish or "integrate" with the local culture. You'll always be a Brit to them, an occupier of Gibraltar, of Spanish territory.

With such anti-Spanish vitriol, it honestly amazes me why you should even want to participate in this forum.
Why not just stick to discussing your pro Brit views down your local National Front supporting pub? Your views do nothing to help those that are caught up in the property minefield.

On the whole, Canada seems to be a significantly more violent society than the UK, and for the most part the social atmosphere seems to be almost a carbon copy of the US.
