For all bird watchers

Re: For all bird watchers
I think I would have closed the windows and hope it didn’t decide to nest on my balcony, you hear of squatters but this would have been a difficult eviction !

Re: For all bird watchers
A good few years ago now but we had a Griffin Vulture take a rest on our house.
Many years ago while posted to Germany me and the wife visited an animal park near Salzburg. We were at the time bird keepers parrots so interested in the birds and bird show with eagles etc. After the show we took a walk around the site and came across a Griffin Vulture sat behind a fence. He came up to the fence and put his head down just like our parrots did when they wanted petting. My wife stroked his head and he just sat there quite happy. We assumed he was one of the tame park birds. As we were leaving my wife spoke to the bird handler and mentioned the incident and tame vulture, the handler looked bemused and said we don't have any tame vultures but we do sometimes get wild ones visit the site!

Re: For all bird watchers
There is a colony based in Alcoy (or there was a few years ago) which were being prepared to be reintroduced back into the wild - they were being fed by humans and so maybe they became a bit tame.
I also know there are lots in the Extremadura region which I used to visit regularly to stay with friends.
But not sure I want one up close and personal!
