Air Conditioning Advice ple
Morning, we purchased a 2 bedroomed apartment in Vinaros, just south of Tarragona, last November and I have most unpleasant memories of freezing to death over New Year and in February.
My Brother on the other hand has just been and has boiled alive.
I'm therefore looking to fit a heating/air con system to cater for both eventualities, if that's at all possible.
Any ideas regarding what we should purchase, how much it will cost and who could install it would be very gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

But this would be better off in the correct forum section.........

Cheapest is not always best. Some manufacturer's units are not very efficient, others are noisy. We chose Panasonic

. . . and you won't have much change from €2500.00. Know what kind of aircon is available. Decide which is of optimum value to you. Decide where the outside fans will cause you least problems. Do it once; do it right.

We bought panasonic
My advice - buy inverters and buy ones that are oversize for the area you need cooling/heating.

Re: Air Conditioning Advice ple
Goodness me that's more than I had anticipated.
Given that it's a bolt hole for us rather than a rental and we've only been out 3 weeks this year at present I'm not sure this would be a wise investment, or whether we could recoup the outlay if we decided to sell.
Big ask I know, but does anyone have any other ideas? To be honest I'm not too bothered about the aircon, we don't plan on visiting during the summer months so would only be purchasing it for someone else, but as a naturally nesh person if I'm cold I just won't go!

A good split aircon system is available (good = reasonable cost/reliable) for less than 6/700 euros in most places (Leroy/Brico/Eroski etc) and fitting for a couple of hundred euros more (max)
Cheaper units be bought for a lot cheaper in say Brico & again IMO is good enough for the occasional visits by an owner.

I recently replaced three of our units (15 yrs old) with Mitsubishi units from a local company. Two were large (35 kw) and one smaller (25kw) It cost €2100 including fitting.

We just got 2 split Fujitsu units installed, €1400 supplied and fitted.
What we hadn't quite bargained for were the bottles to collect the condensate water.
Bit of a bodge job IMHO, so when one of our neighbours/la communidad complained we got the installer back to fit a couple of pumps (we supplied and he charged €120 to fit) to pump the water back onto the roof.
