ahhhh!! remember those???

Just to expand on a couple of postings in a thread a few days ago, what do you miss from your youth, I don't mean being able to see you toes without your belly being in the way, or your boobs staying in the same place when you take your bra off..... but things like Aztec bars as leighbloke mentioned, or anything you particularly loved that now you're a grown- up, you don't feel you can indulge in (like Nesquick or Rainbow drops!) because it makes you look daft!!!:D:D

The coconut tobacco was called Spanish Gold.

What about chocolate tools, jamboree bags, sherbert pips, World Cup Willie lollies, Glees and Anglo Bubbly chewing gum packs with collectable cards in them. I remember the American Civil War cards were the first I collected in the early 60s. But I might be a bit older than you.

I loved 'chewing tobacco' and bazzoka bubble gum. There is a shop in Herne Bay that sells all the old fashioned sweets. but sometimes, they just don't taste the same!

The 64 was the amount of kilobytes of RAM it had. I don't think I could use Photoshop on one of those. Mind you my first mac - a IIci I think - only had 5 megabytes.

It's strange this nostalgia thing, I'm supposed to be working but little memories keep floating back over the mists of time.

When mum sent me shopping I used to have to quote her Co-op number which I can still remember now, 40 years on. If I came home without the saving stamps there was hell to pay.

Yep, and bottles with the wired on top, shake like hell then flick the top off. lol
Even better a bottle of coke, put a sugar cube on the top and smack it in with your hand, empties the bottle in a nano second. ;-))

My mum used to give me a bowl from the kitchen when the ice cream van came round, and he used to fill it with ice cream for us.

Also remember asking the ice cream man for a cup of coke with a blob of ice cream in.

Yup, we used to buy cream soda and lemonade, my little sister couldn't pronounce it and so her word, lemmolade became the 'family' name for it, my Mum got a very strange look when she asked for it!!
We also used to have an egg man, and a flower lady, who was a true Romany, and used to sell lovely plants door to door!

I can remember buying sweets at "four a penny" which is a farthing each, so that would add up as you are a few years older than me - ha ha!:)
