I remember at the start of my foray into buying talking to a Welsh agent who sells on the Costa de la Luz. She was happy to ring back and chat, and asked if I had seen that weeks Sunday Telegraph.. I hadn't. They were advising that people should not buy in Spain unless they could afford to cover a mortgage from income. She said one should treat the extra income as the jam on the bread but it was foolhardy to have it as an essential component of the purchase. And this from an agent !!
