Is it still 5 years Spanish tax authorities can go back?

Thinking of having a major purge on the old paperwork.

Strange that you asked this because I recently made the same query of my gestor and he told me that it is indeed 5 years. I was in the process of shredding papers at the time so was very disappointed that it is not less.

Companies need to keep accounting documents for six years but curiously enough tax records ( declarations and supporting documents ) for only four.
However the authorities can pursue companies for up to ten years for offences such as fraud , so it make sense to be prudent :::
