2 Caixa bank questions

1) I've been receiving interest on my Caixa bank current account for the last few months. I can find no reference to receiving interest on current account balances on the website so have no idea why. It seems most unlike Caixa.
Is it a mistake or can someone point me to where I can find information about it?
2) I've just sold a property in Spain and the money has just hit my Caixa account. What is the most cost effective method to transfer funds to the UK?

Thanks in advance.

1) Don't know but doubt it's a mistake.

2) I would say Wise

Hi, regarding the Caixa bank account issue I think you may need to get help from the others but I will be able to help with your transfer since I transferred the money to Spain to buy a property actually. I got a very good rate and fast. By the way if you don't mind my asking, why did you sell the property? sorry for asking but I actually bought one recently.

I sold a 3 storey town house with high ceilings and the stairs were becoming a problem, otherwise I wouldn't have sold.
I still have an apartment with a lift at the beach so still able to visit.

You cannot directly equate the cost of sending money to a Spanish bank with sending money from it.

Caixa will make a charge to transfer money to a Wise account but from there on converting to £ will be cheap and once it's converted transferring to a UK bank account will be cheap if not free.

Re: 2 Caixa bank questions

I agree. That's why i didn't use a bank to do my transfer. Wise was good but i actually stopped working with wise after a huge delay in one of my payments last year. I used Magna Financial, it was better actually. Most of my friends are now using Magna. Wise is good for maybe for a small transfer i guess. I just didn't want to risk my payment this time. Trustpilot reviews are actually good to check before anything i guess.

Never ever been charged by Caixa to transfer money to my Wise account and have done so numerous times.

These are the options you have when transferring from Caixa to Wise.

Never ever seen that. But may be because I don't pay any banking charges........the only fee I see is an optional one if I want the transer to arrive immediately (usually in minutes) and that is €1.99, which I do sometimes use.

Re: 2 Caixa bank questions

I've tried to make a small euro transfer to Wise from my Caixa account without success.
I downloaded the Caixa bank sign in app and all looks good but the transfer wasn't made. A tick appears the app tells to me close it and check it has gone through on my banking app. It hasn't and there are no pending transactions showing.
I must but doing something incorrectly but I have no idea what.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I always do mine from my laptop via Caixabank online, once relevant info is completed I get a message on my Caixabank sign app on my phone asking me to confirm transaction. Maybe try doing it via your Caixa bank App rather than the Caixa Sign app. I just was under the impression the Caixa Sign App was just a method for authorising all your digital banking transactions

I do all of my transfers using the wise app.
I tell it how much and where it comes from, wise than asks you if you want to transfer from Debit/Credit?Bank account.
Then if its one they have in the list you just login and its all ready to go..

I move £ from Nationwide BS in the Uk to € direct to my Santader.es account and $Oz to my daughters Bank of Australia account without charges except for the wise one.
I move $Oz from my daughters account to my £ balance on the wise card.

All from wise, and if its only a couple of hundred I dont even have to authorise the payments or transfers from the banks themselves, because I make regular transfers, the banks auto authorise..
Try doing the transfers inside the Wise app.
