MiFi is reasonable if you want to send e-mails and search the web or look at something on e-bay but until recently there is little written about how good 150 MBPS MiFi devices are in improving downloads. An additional problem has been the cost of data sim monthly charges. One solution cost wise is the Knowhow International sim which I have used for the past 2 months here in Pilar de la Horadada. The problem with them is that they use Yoigo to supply the service in Spain and here in Pilar Yoigo are at best poor to middling - forget viewing something on You Tube. My MiFi device is only capable of speeds in the region of 23 MBPS and I wonder if anyone has a 150 MBPS device and if they improve download speeds in reality. Knowhow sims are not at all bad and 10gb costs in the region of £29 on a one month rolling deal. No long-term contract and if you do not want to use you can put it on hold at £3.50 per month. You can lower amount of data you pay for very easy and will not get a non-contract deal in Spain.

The 150mb/s is the speed of the WiFi network it creates. The speed of download is totally dependant on the Internet connection you get through the GSM service. If it is not 3G it will be slow. 4G will give very much higher speeds but you would blow your data can in a few minutes!

Data Sim MiFi remains a poor way to go. Better to go through a landline connection.

After over a year using them not impressed with Knowhow. Despite fact it boasts it is an international card it has limits on use that really mean it is a holiday use sim. Only half your monthly use can be outside UK which again severely limits it.
