Unhappy Getting Started

Hi,
I have only just put the wheels in motion today to move to South Africa with my girlfriend. We live in London now but she is from CT.
I have spoken to a company called Global Visas who say they can get me set up with a job and the correct visas and all that is required to live legally in South Africa with my partner, for £1800.
Has anyone had any dealings with this company, or his type of company before? The charge seems steep but a necessary investment as I dont know where to start. Is it good value?

Thanks in advance for any info, I apologise if this an uneducated and disjointed question.

Hi and Welcome to BE.

If your GF is from CT then she obviously knows how things are and work over there. Things will be easier for you. I don't know about visa requirements, but some will hopefully be along soon enough to help.

Thats sounds a bit too good to be true.
There are many visa cmpanies out there offering people the world. Unfortunately they never seem to live up to their promises. Personally I would do it myself.

Agree with that. As long as you have patience, common sense and a degree of intelligence, it can be done. Rather use the cash as down payment on a car or for moving costs.

But - dealing with South African Home Affairs can be a trying experience. Good luck.
