Happy New Year! Does anyone know what UK privileges you will lose if you take up permanent residence in another country, but still keeping British passport and citizenship. Where can we find this info? Thanks.

There are privileges?
What exactly did you have in mind?
If you take PR, you are still a British citizen. Depending on what you have paid in NI contributions, you still get a British pension (though at what age, who knows).

I know we had to give up Child Benefit when we moved to Singapore but I don't know about any others apart from what bb mentions above.

Basically, we would like to know if my British husband takes up Permanent Residency in another country, would it affect his sponsorship of me for Spouse Visa upon our return in a few years' time. We intend to return when he retires, so we will only be relying on the savings-in-the-bank-for 6-months criteria, and no work income. But wondered if there were any subtle details that we should be aware of in our spouse visa application. Don't really want him to apply for PR, live overseas for a few years and then realise a few years down the road that this will affect him sponsoring me to go back to live the UK. So I'd appreciate any info here. Many thanks.

As your question really relates to what is going to happen when you return to the UK (?) you may be better asking the question in the Moving Back to the UK forum. There's a quick link below for you.
