Hi Everyone, just joined up. I am a scouser working as a Expat Real Estate Agent.
Hi Guys,
I’m new to BA although I’ve been living and working as a Real Estate Agent in Singapore for the past few years with my husband Will. As a scouser working in Asia I did find my first year here demanding spending half of my time trying to get the Singaporeans to understand me but after many wrong orders and confused conversations I can now order chicken and rice like a local. We are very happy here and we may never leave.
If anyone needs any advice about the property market here in Singapore or wants to meet for a coffee please send me a message.
All the best
Heidi

Hello Heidi. The Singapore property market has always seemed quite buoyant to me. I used to have a flat there then sold it and it was all effortlessly easy (and fortunately made a wee bit of money too) but...... aren't there some nasty little taxes for foreigners buying now? What do you think about that?

Yes the Government has imposed a 10% additional buyers stamp duty for foreigners. It’s very harsh on us foreigners but we are expecting the property prices to drop.

Hi AngsanaTree, think you have been out of Liverpool too long if you are calling yourself a scourer lol. Whereabouts in Liverpool are you from?

How much for a 4 bed 2 bath apartment (no HB) rent/to buy? Ideally near the botanical gardens in low rise?

RedDragon2008 - www.iproperty.com.sg and www.propertyguru.com.sg are good places to check out what's available and prices for buying and rental.

An area I would think in which prices would be above average.
I'm guessing here but you might well pay over £4000 per month for a 4b 4bath and iirc you will be taxed on your rental.

Happy to take suggestions, access to MRT and nice combination of being close too amenities but not too close if that makes sense?
We will have a decent enough budget but have no reason to waste it on living in a pretentious area. Happy to live alongside local as much as middle of expat community. Despite the cost of cars, work will provide a suitable vehicle. I do like the concept of using the MRT and leaving the vehicle for my wife and daughters to utilise.

Trying to get a sense of market price or known area. Have no presumption that this has to be the area. However having family in the area may sway or discourage

Strat with that.
All areas here have good and not so good accommodation of which ever type you want.
By good and not so good I mean new and less new.
