Medicals before requested
Hi all!
I've read a lot of threads about sending meds before requested.
However, I'm still not sure about it. I got the acknowledgment in
January 2003, and STNI in May 28th, but still haven't heard from
DIMIA, so I am planning to send the medicals even when not requested.
Is it possible to do that? I've read that when DIMIA requests for
meds, they send the form with the applicant's photograph attached and
stamped by DIMIA. So, if I have them done before requested, I should
use a blank form from the web.
Any comments?
Thank you.
Marcelo

It's not a problem to submit your medicals or police checks before they are requested. The only problem that can arise is that your visa may not be granted before they expire.
My migration agent suggested to me that I submit both of them about 4 months after I applied. They told me that when DIMIA requests them tey will see that they are already in the file and it may speed up the process.

Re: Medicals before requested
Believe it or not, I got an answer from DIMIA about the matter.
However, it was not completely clear. As I see it, medicals can be
done before requested. However, I couldn't find the forms in DIMIA's
website.
Does anybody know where the forms are?
Cheers!
Here is Dimia's answer:
I can confirm that in order for your application to be finalised, you
and
all members of your family included in your application, must submit
evidence of a permanent medical examination with an approved panel
doctor.
This must be conducted within the 12 months PRIOR to the date of
grant.
You and all members of your family included in your application over
the
age of 16 must also submit evidence of a penal clearance certificate
for
every country in which you have resided for at least 1 year in the
last 10
years. Please refer to form 47P for further instructions on these
requirements. This form is available to be downloaded from the
Department's website on http://www.immi.gov.au. Alternatively, you
can
obtain this form from your nearest Australian Embassy or Immigration
office. Please note that these clearances are also generally valid
for 12
months.
You are not required to provide evidence of your medical or police
clearance at the time you lodge your application. This will be
requested
by your case officer during the processing of your application and all
forms will be provided. Please note that the Department is not able
to
provide any letter of requests to assist you in obtaining the above
requirements prior to this time.
