What do you think are the biggest differences and challenges with the business culture in the US vs. the UK?

You're working at the wrong place. I curse up a storm every day (esp at the damn computer). Did the same at my last couple of employers as well. Guess that's the advantage of working in a non-office environment...or maybe it's cuz I really could care less.

i dont actually work over here (unless looking after 3 mental kids counts!) but I am always surprised just how many small businesses seem to refer to Jesus or God in their literature or logo or whatever. For instance - my kids pediatrician has some kind of ''our practice is based on gods physician'' or something like that written on the wall as you come is. I dont think I ever saw anything like that in the UK.

In a (UK) bank I used to work in, many moons ago, I'd always volunteer to hang out in the banking hall with a tray of sherry glasses on Christmas Eve. I'd always return to the office kitchen with one glass still full each time. We'd inevitably get a rush-on just before we closed at lunchtime (as we always did on the 24th), and I'd be sat at my till, trying to serve people and count their money while pissed off my head...

To be honest there were stools to kind of perch against, but we mostly stood as it was more comfortable. We only sat down when we were drunk on the job!
