HI,i have just moved to the Valencia region,south about 50k. I have been a pro bass player in England for 20 years and know nothing about the music scene there. I would ultimately like to start working in bands over there but cant find a way in. Any ideas? Would like to hear from anyone playing in Spain and any tips would be most appreciated.

Hi Ben,

I have been a electric guitar player for about 13 years and I have been in many bands.

There are lots of bands in Spain. Many more than in Britain I would say. All kinds of music styles are played.

If you are a good bass player you won´t have problems to find somebody to play with. Just place adverds in the music shops.

Hi Ben
I was looking at your website and wondered if you ever played at Holmer Green Music Club? It is near High Wycombe and run by a guy called Johnny Dunsterville. I think he used to be a session guy and started this club when he moved there. I used to go there regularly and hear some fantastic music, he seemed to have all sorts of connections and people would just drop in and play.

Hope you find some way of getting involved in the music scene here.

Dont know your area Ben, but aren`t there any live music bars about where you can ask ?
There is one near me in Fuengirola, miles from you though, where the musicians just turn up and jam.
I just did a google search for you but nothing showed up.

There probally is in Valencia but thats 70k away and havent had the time to scout about as so much work on our new villa,its like a bomb site!
Thanks for looking. There certainly isnt much going on band wise where we are as it is all duo's or kareoke!
