I know there's plenty online and the like, but I thought it would be a nice idea if people have good recommendations from places they have actually used, as well as stores in there area to post them here.

I haven't used an online store in a while, but there is a tiny little shack like store in Freeport, Maine, near Portland, if your ever in the area, well worth checking out, very cheap.

I just picked up a 240 count of those pyramid PG tips bags for $19.50

Heinze beans were $1.80 loads of sweets and chocs for $1 and free samples to try out as well as other stuff...

Keep a look out for Indian shops in your area they always sell lots of British foods

At least one Jewel supermarket in Chicago (Roosevelt/State) has a tiny "Irish" section that has a few McVities biscuits (Ginger Nuts, Choc Digestives), tea, marmalade, curry sauce, baked beans.

Also in Chicago, Devon Avenue Indian shops and Cost Plus World Market for some chocolate.

Stop and Shop supermarket has a British Goods section. You can get Mcvities Hob Nobs, Rich tea biscuits, heinz salad cream, baked beans, heinz tomato soup amongst other things.

Memphis TN

Schnucks at Germantown Parkway and Poplar Avenue has a foreign food aisle with a British Section. Heinz Beans are 1.69 a can ( I think). Also stock digestives, salad creme, etc.

World Market, Wolfchase Galeria, has a lot of British food, good selection of Cadbury's.

The Fresh Market, Poplar Avenue, also has British goods.

There are a number of Indian stores where you can get British food but be carefull for the Sell by Date as I did spot some stuff that was more than 6 month's out of date.

The one I went to yesterday has closed their British and Irish section.

My HEB has a 'British' section, even in this small College Town. Amazing what they think British is! My wife once 'treated me' and brought loads of 'British' products home - 80% of which I had never seen the brand before. I do go there to get my Colmans Mustard and Twinnings Tea, but nothing else.

I'm going to follow this thread, I'd be interested in knowing of a good source of those hard to find items.

definitely looking for in new location as there aren't any around here, local co-op has some stuff, not cheap though *l*

Oh, anyone in the New England area...check out "Ocean State Job Lots", it's kind of a step down from Big Lots I guess, but they often have Brit food, biscuits, chocs, salad dressings and various stuff, fairly cheaply too.

We've got to head down to Naples in Florida over the weekend - does anyone know of any good British stores / actually decent British Pubs (Preferably one that sells London Pride), in the Naples area ?

We used the Wise Choice online store (from Ohio), It was quite good and quick, even though we found that the company that the stores buys imported meats from is actually about 10 minutes from our house ! LOL

Cincinnati Ohio has a store called Jungle Jims on route 4 north of the city. It is a hypermarket type store with many international products. This is the best store I have found with at least four aisles of British goods, including a cold section with locally produced British ish pies and bangers. All goods were cheaper then any where else I have shopped. If your in the area I am sure you will not want to miss this one.

Jungle Jim's is indeed great...thanks to Pigtails for turning me on to it. We often go there while traveling thru Cincy.
